Programme Ampthill - Warrior
Specific Job Description The WCSP Lethality team is delivering new capability and functionality into the main WCSP programme. The Lethality domain encompasses the key aspects of the WCSP system from Fire Control, Turret Drives, Weapon Control through to the Primary Weapon system. As part of the continued success of the WCSP programme require experienced Systems Engineers to join the Lethality team.

The positions will report to the Lethality System Design Authority and will be involved in:
" Overseeing the main subcomponent deliveries through the external supply chain and ensuring that all components are delivered in accordance with their respective design artefacts.
" Embodiment of engineering change requests
" Development and maintenance of system and sub-system interfaces
" Development of artefacts to support programme level review gates
" Contributing to the verification and acceptance arguments for the Lethality domain requirements
This role will encompass experienced knowledge of requirements management and leadership, liaison with supply chain professionals and working across electrical, mechanical and software boundaries.

Required skills, qualifications and experience
o Working within a large multi-disciplinary engineering team
o Excellent knowledge of various Systems Engineering lifecycle concepts
o Ability to use innovation and traditional methods to develop technical solutions to both simple and more complex problems
o Experience of working on complex electro-mechanical systems or similar, preferably in a military domain
o Experience of using IBM DOORS to manage requirements and acceptance evidence
o Development of Interface control documents and specifications
o Frequent use and application of Systems Engineering technical standards, and MoD documentation (e.g. Def Stans), principles, theories, concepts and techniques and applying their relevance to the projects
o Development of Verification & Acceptance (V&A) statements
o Experience of working with suppliers to ensure verification evidence is at the required maturity
o Electrical and Mechanical engineering knowledge/background
o Team player
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills
o Ability to work to tight deadlines

Desired skills, qualifications and experience o Knowledge of MILCAN and Network Architectures
o Knowledge of Armoured Fighting Vehicles design
