Are you winning the war on talent? Serocor, BDO and Paris Smith host talent seminar
Serocor has teamed up with accounting and business advisory firm BDO and legal professionals Paris Smith to host a breakfast event to inspire and inform chief executives and other board directors in dealing with the issues of attracting and keeping a talented workforce.
It will take place at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton on Tuesday 3rd November at 7.45am.
The seminar will encourage employers to think differently about talent management through keynote speeches by industry professionals Tom Hadley, Director of Policy and Professional Services at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, and ‘Google Dave’, Partner and Director of Client Services at PH.Creative.
The speakers will also join Paul Mallinson, Managing Director of Optamor Talent Partnerships, and Judy Holliday, Head of Development at Arqiva, to lead a panel session on building talent for growth and tackling challenges head on.
Attendees will have the opportunity to influence the discussion topics by completing a short questionnaire in advance of the event. They will also receive a one page comparison report that will summarise their performance on ten aspects of talent management and enable them to benchmark against other organisations.
Malcolm Thixton, lead partner at BDO Southampton says:
“As part of BDO’s focus on the Central South Mid Market over the last 18 months, we have spoken to a wide range of companies and they all have a common challenge when looking to grow their business – the ability to recruit and retain a talented workforce in a fiercely competitive labour market.”
Mike Gawthorne at Serocor Group continues:
“Businesses are facing profound challenges in attracting and keeping the right talent for growth, confidence is back and revenues are up however talent now appears to be on every board’s agenda as the main blocker to growth. This is driven by many factors, from new technology to changing demographics, combined with the global skills shortage during a time of growth."
Peter Taylor, Managing Partner, at Paris Smith adds:
"The fact of the matter is that employees have more options and employers have fewer; businesses need to review their strategies in order to tackle the challenge head on.''
