Senior Stress Engineer

Advanced Resource Managers are currently working with an Engineering company, who specialise within the nuclear industry, to seek Senior Stress Engineers to join their growing team.

 

About You:

  • You will have or be eligible for DV clearance
  • You will have a degree  in an engineering discipline or equivalent
  • You will have experience in stress analysis and hand calculation using MathCAD
  • You will have strong working knowledge of BS EN 13001, BS 2573 parts 1 & 2, BS 5950 and Eurocodes
  • You will have significant experience in analysis activities in highly regulated environments (preferably nuclear)

 

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure designs are fit for purpose and identify design solutions to solve problems identified by structural analysis performed
  • Analysis of engineering designs, mostly by hand calculations, backed up with FE analysis
  • Focal point for design analysis, both internally and by subcontractors
  • Support the creation of standard operating procedures to introduce and develop consistent analysis methods and rules across the engineering department, providing internal training as required
  • Able to approach analysis pragmatically and efficiently, working with engineers to ensure design for manufacture is realised.
  • Provide scheduling and tasking information to the Lead Engineers, Project Engineering Managers and Project Managers to support project delivery.

 

 

This role is a permanent position based within Hampshire; you will be required to be on site every day. This company currently offers flexible working hours, providing employees more accommodating hours.

 

The salary is £39,000 - £54,000 depending on experience, with this role you will also have the following benefits: 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, flexible working, cycle to work scheme, life assurance, pension and private healthcare.
