Pre-Programmes Planner

Are you looking for a new role within the Automotive Industry? We are supporting a permanent role based in Warwick.

Job Purpose:

  • Lead the planning and documenting X-carline commodity strategies and cost structures Pre-Gate 7.  Create alignment between Product plan (voice of customer), R&D, Finance and heads of platforms and govern the process to balance the cross functional demands.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Plan and document with PMTs alignment of key commodities Strategy and Powertrain strategies across car lines
  • Work closely with Heads of Platform and Planning team to Lead annual process synthetic submissions for future programmes investment and piece cost
  • Develop common formats communicating and cascading agreed Commodity Strategies - run and instigate cross functional forums to ensure gaps are closed
  • Collate and provide input to the Programme Office team on agreed and proposed commodity Plans
  • Manage the process to balance the cross functional demands with the customer and market demands
  • Ensure future technical solutions will meet customer targets through engagement of Vehicle Engineering team
  • Develop model line and cross carline deployment plans to deliver legislative compliance and protect against requirements for derogations across all regions to ensure compatibility of technology/ commodity plans with the Cycle and Business Plans and delivering carline profitability
  • Support PMT evaluation of solutions – support them to summarise and present alternative strategies for commodity plans and convey strengths, weaknesses opportunities and threats of the different options.
  • Manage the creation and distribution of 'SEL' documentation to move a Programme from 'Annual Process' to the deployment stage and transfer from Planning to Product Creation
  • To support Programme Office in creating Gate 7
  • Develop and cascade the 'so what' implications of analysis of cross function inputs to Product Strategy
  • The post holder will undertake other duties as may be required to achieve the Company’s objectives, commensurate with the grading of the post.

Your Experience

  • A Degree (or equivalent) in a technical background such as Automotive, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience of leading cross functional teams in a range of automotive disciplines
  • Experience defining detailed vehicle requirements from a high level Product Brief
  • Knowledge through delivery of all phases of Product Development, proven experience of creating and assessing alternative delivery strategies and presenting Strength/ Weaknesses/ Opps /Threats across multiple business areas
  • Strong commercial understanding and ability to build a budget from a high-level vehicle specification
  • Strong and Proven analytical skills and an ability to convey these clearly and concisely
  • Excellent presentation skills (written and verbal)
  • Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
  • Excellent planning skills with strong ability to think strategically
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Tenacity to deliver personal and company objectives
  • Experience of cross functional management and confident in leading and guiding groups
  • A working knowledge of Commercial requirements in addition to Programme delivery
