Business Development Manager required on a permanent basis in Poole - paying up to £55,000p/a + a very attractive benefits package.
A leading organisation is looking for two talented Business Development Managers to join the team on a permanent basis, based in the South West.
" Are you a Sales/ Business Development Manager who has extensive experience within the Naval industry, and is looking for your next challenge?
" Can you collaborate with prime contractors from the likes of BAE, QinetiQ, Atlas and BMT?
" Do you have a technical understanding of naval infrastructure, cabinets and consoles, on both surface and submarine platforms?

This role will be working for a well established organisation which was established in the 20th century which has gone from strength to strength, increasing turnover nearly fourfold and remaining in profit throughout.
What you'll be doing:
The successful applicants will participate in all aspects associated with business development, working closely with Projects, Programs, Engineering and Operations Managers to ensure all development activities support the strategy and market requirements of the company, with responsibilities which include:
-The delivery of RFQs, ITTs, orders and sales into the business
-Identifying and soliciting new market opportunities, in accordance with customer and company expectations
-Preparing and presenting regular sales and order forecasts against defined budgets and providing regular reports to the Sales and Marketing Director
-Supporting the marketing function within the business by contributing to the upkeep and generation of web based and paper based marketing literature and technical information
-Monitoring the administration of contracts as required, ensuring that customer expectations are met, and contractual requirements are complied with
-Keeping abreast of industry trends, competitor activities and market needs, generating concepts to support and develop appropriate sales and marketing strategies
-Leading and managing the direct reports to the role, ensuring that their development, behaviours and results are measured and maintained in accordance with the company performance expectations and culture policy
-Closing sales opportunities, ensuring both commercial T&Cs and costs comply with targets and company guidelines, with any risks identified and minimized in accordance with the Gate Review process
-Assisting in all aspects of sales and marketing activities, including but not limited to, attendance at exhibitions and other relevant marketing events
-Maintaining CRM and other computer-based data retrieval systems for customer management and Sales performance management purposes
-Working effectively within the structural framework of the company, reporting back to the Sales and Marketing Director on matters outside of limits of authority
-Being aware of legislation, codes of practice and operating standards associated with the market to ensure proper compliance with them.
What we're looking for:
-An understanding of commercial business principles to EBITDA level, including, but not limited to, costs, margins, earning rates and commissions
-Significant experience of understanding and exploiting routes to market
-Strong knowledge of the operational and technical requirements of the customer in the naval defence domain
-Success in negotiating and closing commercial contracts.
-Experience of working with defence prime contractors.
In this role, there is an expectation of travel within the UK and internationally.
Due to the nature of the role, you must either hold valid SC clearance or be eligible to undergo clearance. **
