Our client, a well known transport and infrastructure consultancy, are looking for a Graduate Transport Planner to join their team in Cambridge.
For this role you would have a degree in civil engineering, geography or maths. You would also have some post graduate experience in a transport planning role, ideally within the private sector.
You should understand the principles of Manual for Streets and its philosophies and have a basic knowledge of minor highway improvements and junction design. You should be familiar with the process of examining access requirements, understanding the accessibility needs for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users and have working experience of TRICS, Junctions 9 (or most recent versions), LINSIG, TemPRO and be able to interrogate data sources such at the ONS data related to travel demand characteristics.
You should be numerate and have good communication skills. A good working knowledge of Excel would be an advantage with experience in the use of pivot tables and associated functions and competent in the use of the typical suite of Microsoft programmes. In addition and not essential, some experience in the use of some Adobe programmes, such as Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator would be valuable.
