Are you an Administrator who has had experience working with international shipping and looking for a new opportunity?
I am currently recruiting for a Shipping Administrator on a 9-12 month FTC in Basingstoke paying up to £30,000p/a (pro rata).
The main purpose of your role will be to provide and deliver a professional and expert shipping & logistics service for the organisation. You will be responsible for the shipment of secure high value products to internal and external customers in line with company policies.
What you will be doing on a day to day basis:
-Organise the shipment of high value cargo to and from internal sites and direct to customers.
-Obtain and verify freight quotes for air, ocean and land freight from authorised freight forwarders
-Have a working knowledge of air charter movements.
-Produces export documents, Invoices, packing lists, EUR1, Certificates of Origin, insurance certificates etc.
-Book and confirm shipments with authorised freight forwards
-Review and confirm Letters of Credit are workable
-Check and present documents in accordance with Letters of Credit requirements.
-Maintain and build good lines of communications with the clients factories.
-Use and maintain shipping tools and attend weekly meetings
-Ensure that the business Shipping Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to.
-Minimise business risk and highlight any risk issues.
-Verify supplier invoices
-Maintain report and tracking information tools.
-Attend order hand-over meetings as appropriate.
-Arrange for ad-hoc shipments as required and cover for other members of the Shipping team as required.
What you are expected to know:
-Member of the Institute of Export (preferred by not essential)
-Previous and current export experience in ocean, air and land freight.
-Capable of working within a prescribed and procedural environment
-Understanding of Incoterms 2010
-Working knowledge of Documentary Letters of Credit
Due to the nature of the environment you will be required to undergo security clearance. To be eligible for this you will need to hold a British passport or valid visa with proof that you have lived and worked in the UK for the last 5 years.
