Electronics development engineer
Dartford (commutable from Maidstone, Crawley, Tonbridge, Romford, Grays, Bromley, Croydon, London)
Electronics Development Engineer will be mainly focused on the development of core commercial vehicle safety and efficiency product range. Providing both product design and project management capability, while assisting the Product Development Team in upgrades and new product design, development & verification. This position will be predominantly at product level, requiring good understanding of defining and managing requirements, electronic & mechanical design, product verification and validation. The role will be primarily supplier-facing, managing multiple suppliers and manufacturers in both high and low-cost countries, overcoming cultural and language barriers to deliver new product in time for market.
" Lead and manage Electronic product development throughout the product lifecycle
" Supplier liaison and management
" Requirements and engineering specification creation
" Product design and design for manufacturing
" Product verification and validation
" Preparation of detailed component technical drawings, documentation and user manuals.
" Aid the customers, sales and marketing on technical solutions and products support Technology
" Analogue and digital circuit design and development
" Micro & digital signal processing systems
" Digital communication protocols e.g. CAN, I2C, SPI, RS232 or similar.
" Software & hardware interface & software engineering
" PCB level troubleshooting and product fault finding
" Team working, and co-operation with all colleagues
" Direct communication with and support to colleagues and suppliers especially from the Far East.
" Participate and lead in team meetings, training courses and workshops
" Close links with staff will need to be developed and maintained in order to meet corporate objectives
" Required to present a positive and professional image at all times.
" Ensure that an excellent supplier / customer relationship is established and maintained at all times.
" Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics product development or similar Alternative educational background combined with solid professional experience
" High level of numeracy and literacy
" Able to demonstrate co-ordination skills
" Knowledge of analogue and digital electronics including micro processing, DSP, video signal processing
" Computer application skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
" High level of communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, management and colleagues.
" Clear spoken English
" Helpful and approachable
