Facilities Engineering Technician required on a permanent basis in Essex paying up to £47,762 depending on level of experience.
***There are 2 positions working on Double Days***
Early Shift: 6.30 am - 2.00 pm Mon-Fri.
Late Shift: 1.45 pm - 9.15 pm Mon-Fri.
Working for a well-established organisation Specialising to provide governments and organisations with the secure products and digital solutions that enable countries to trade, companies to sell, economies to grow and people to move securely around an increasingly connected world you could work for a well-established organisation as a Facilities Engineering Technician.
The purpose of your job will be to maintain compressed air/vacuum systems and plant facilities to a high standard. Work on mechanical installations and general building maintenance activities.
A Little flavour of what you will be doing:
-To carry out maintenance schedules and reactive actions in order to maximise equipment uptime/performance.
-To respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns and report findings and solutions.
-To assume ownership and responsibility of assigned equipment.
-Carry out problem solving and advice on plant improvements to increase efficiency, reduce downtime and/or improve safety.
-To engage and support the Asset Care model for all assigned equipment.
-To maintain a high standard of workmanship, housekeeping and work in a safe way complying with site safety procedures at all times.
-To undertake projects which require mechanical/electrical and building maintenance skills and strive for continuous improvement.
-Use maintenance management software to update progress daily.
What you will be expected to know:
-NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds or equivalent as a minimum qualification
-4 years craft apprenticeship or equivalent with the ability to demonstrate on the job experience including multi-skilling
-Experience with pumps, pressure vessels, compressors and general plant essential.
-An active contributing member of a progressive flexible manufacturing team.
-IT Literate, fully conversant with MS Office
-Hydraulics and pneumatic experience essential
-Welding and pipe fitting skills
-Mechanical installation qualifications/experience
For this role it would be great if you have experience of Compressors and ideally some mechanical installation experience (although not essential). Good Facilities background can be from other industries i.e. building services/facilities. Working on chillers/ventilation and other ad hoc work.
