£44.00 per hour Ltd / £33.77 per hour PAYE
Role Overview
To co-ordinate and manage Mechanical Interfaces and associated activities for TDP-M1 Satellite. TDP-M1 is a military telecommunications satellite, using existing telecommunications processes and product, primed and integrated in the UK. The role will require familiarity with Eurostar NEO product and processes, and the fostering of a team working relationship across three sites (Stevenage, Portsmouth and Toulouse).
Key Responsibilities
- Create partnership with TLS MSC/Product Team
- Interface management across at least 2 networks/working environments and 3 sites
- Generate drawing release schedule in line with project requirements, including ICDs, GAs, Installation Drawings and Test configuration drawings
- Satellite Configuration Management
- Work with NEO Product Team to maintain minimum deviation from NEO Product
- Chair DMU reviews (System level/all data visible)
- Manage IRDs generation for sensitive subsystems/units
- ICD Documentation
- PDR datapack (with T-MSC)
- Review of lower-level unit data (progress reviews, design reviews, RFDs, DRB)
- CDR datapack (with T-MSC)
- Generate and maintain the Mechanical Interface Control Document
- All work substantiating design decisions to be documented in Design Justification File
Internal Relationships
- Project role will be reporting to Satellite Mechanical Architect
- Provide regular inputs to Mechanical Architect on Satellite Configuration and Interface definition and verification activities.
- The role will close working and guidance for the Mechanical Design Office activities.
- Develop close relationships with the TLS MSC product team and Portsmouth payload design team.
- Liaise with functional groups in the company to provide the necessary resources for timely interface and associated KID (Key Interface Document) deliverables.
- Support regular weekly review with the Mechanical Architect and Customisation Team.
Skills Required
- Experience of S/C design, especially with regard to design for manufacture, and KID management and definition.
- Ability to communicate to the project team, management, and the customer.
- To work within a multi-discipline team - with experience of teambuilding, decision making and target setting.
- Ability to obtain SC clearance
- Honours degree or equivalent desirable
