Head of HR

Head of HR – Bristol -Permanent - £70,000 - £80,000 DOE  

 

ARM have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of HR to join one of our clients located in Bristol on a permanent basis.

 

The Role:

This role is to work as part of the clients UK HR team delivering high quality strategic HR solutions to the business whilst supporting the overall HR mission and vision and working closely with the UK HR Director to ensure delivery of the strategic HR plan aligned to the overall business direction and requirements.

A pivotal role within the HR Leadership Team, you will be experienced in executing people- related strategies and HR interventions and programmes. You will have worked in a fast paced and commercial business environment, working both alongside a HR team with demonstrable experience of adding true value to the business and achieving the key business requirements as set out below:

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Measurably contribute to the leadership team; growth and profitability of the business through effectively developing and delivering the people strategy.
  • Have held a senior leadership role in a prime contractor position, managing multiple stakeholders across a number of sub-contractor organisations including their HR departments.
  • Familiarity with MOD and commercial logistics and supply chain principles and challenges.
  • Understanding and appreciation of the Civil Service/ Government environment – emerging issues and impact
  • Identify the strategic business activities that require HR support and developing a strategy to deliver successful outcomes against both the long and short-term goals.
  • Evaluate the external environment, business and people-related trends to identify and act on opportunities and threats.
  • Must be an energetic and creative thinker with high business ethics and standards, as well as an intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of the organisation.
  • Be directly accountable for engaging the HR team to ensure services are designed and delivered to support the business strategy and ensure the HR calendar of priorities are delivered ahead of schedule.
  • Coach, challenge and advise the Leadership & management teams to ensure business objectives are worked in partnership with the HR strategy

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in an influential HR role, developed as part of a management team in a mid-size organisation or as a senior manager within a smaller organisation.
  • A well-rounded understanding of HR, gained at various stages of the business life cycle.
  • Proven experience of stakeholder management with senior business leaders and the ability to influence change and challenge across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong experience of working with and negotiating with Trade Unions.
  • A successful record of managing change in a complex organisation.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience, be CIPD qualified and have demonstrable experience in a HR role.
  • Familiarity with Government/Cabinet Office policies and employee retention and retirement schemes e.g. MyCSP
