Electrical Field Service Engineer

Field Service Engineer – Electrical – Process Plants

Essex area

Circa £40,000 + company van + OT

 

Introduction

We are currently recruiting for multiple Electrical Field Service Technicians / Engineers to work across a variety of client sites in Essex. The Field Service Engineers will be responsible for maintenance, repair and overhaul work on range of electrical equipment across power stations, chemical plants etc. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance work on wide range of electrical equipment found across heavy process plants (power stations, chemical plants etc.) including motors, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems and actuators
  • Rewiring, Installation and commissioning work
  • Communicate effectively on a technical level both written and verbally to customers and colleagues
  • Work alone to diagnose electrical faults in a timely manner with minimal assistance or direction
  • When requires assist on planned site outages / shutdowns
  • Complete all necessary documentation and paperwork
  • Effectively manage your own work schedule for the week

 

Requirements

Suitable candidates for this role will ideally have the following:

  • A time served apprenticeship along with some form of technical qualification in electrical engineering or similar e.g. HNC/ONC/NVQ/C&G. 17th or 18th edition is desirable but not essential
  • Experience maintaining, fault finding and repairing on electrical equipment such as motors, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems and actuators. Experience with HV systems would be desirable
  • At least 5 years of post-apprenticeship experience in electrical maintenance across heavy process plants such as power stations, chemical plants, refineries, steel works, paper mills, waste recycling sites etc.
  • A full UK driving licence, ideally clean

 

Salary and benefits

  • A basic salary up to £40,000 depending on experience
  • A company van and fuel card
  • Generous uncapped overtime rates
  • 28 days holiday + 8 BH
  • Company pension
  • Expenses paid during outage periods
