Tax Accountant
As Tax Accountant you will report to the Senior Tax Manager taking responsibility for day to day tax matters within the group, including responsibility for UK and International tax reporting, liaising with finance, commercial and other stakeholders, providing a business advisory service on all tax matters and providing support on project activity. You will assist in managing tax strategies and liaising with our external advisors and Head Office in Italy.
Key Responsibilities -
- Corporation Tax Responsible for collating information and detailed analysis for the UK and overseas branches corporation tax returns in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist in the divisional Research & Development Claim and Patent Box liaising with Group Tax, external tax advisors and tax authorities as required. Responsible for the preparation of the divisional quarterly tax provision and input into the Hyperion reporting tool.
- Assist in the provision of Transfer Pricing documentation and analysis of calculations for the Helicopters division Indirect Tax (VAT) Responsible for the preparation and submission of Helicopters Division UK and International VAT and other indirect tax returns.
- Responsible for ensuring all VAT accounts are reconciled monthly and journals posted within agreed timescales.
- Agreement of Inter Company Loan accounts with Head Office to reflect VAT payments and repayments.
- Other Tax Areas Ensuring strong financial controls operate over direct and indirect tax activities in line with policy and procedures, to include implementing improvements to procedures where necessary.
- Assist with PAYE Settlement Agreement calculations, statistical returns and ad hoc requests for information.
- Assistance with tax and VAT matters from Law 262 internal and external audits. Minimising exposure to penalties or additional tax arising from late lodgement of returns, taxation audits or mis-declaration penalties.
- Correspondence and meetings as appropriate with the relevant tax authorities and seeking to maintain a good working relationship.
- Support the wider tax team as necessary.
- General Maintain awareness of new legislation, regulations and consultative papers, and proactively provide proposals for responses or actions to be taken. Liaison and participation with other departments to discuss relevant technical matters.
- Provide tax advice and training for relevant staff where necessary.
- Assist in increasing the profile of the Tax Team to improve the business's understanding of tax matters.
