Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant (Leasing & Fixed Assets) –Hampshire – 12 Month Contract- £Competitive         

ARM are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join one of our clients on the south coast for an initial 12 month contract.

This primary requirement will be to build an IFRS16 Leasing Excel model that will enable our client to efficiently manage its lease portfolio and associated accounting requirements

Once complete, the second part of this role will be to cover maternity leave covering a period of 9/10 months covering a fixed asset accounting role.

Responsibilities:

For the leasing element of this role (3 months) the tasks will include (but not limited to):

• Creation of an excel model that will allow the efficient management of the IFRS16 monthly process and effective lease budget management
• Training of finance colleagues on model created
• Data validation of property lease estate with internal estates team & external estate management consultants
• Paternity leave cover over NAO interim Audit
• Assisting the Financial Year end preparation for IFRS16 notes

For the fixed asset element of this role (9-10 months) the tasks will include (but not limited to):

• Fixed Asset Accounting including the creation and maintenance of the fixed asset register
• Depreciation budget management
• Supporting the Senior Financial Accountant through NAO annual audit
• Assistance with Annual Report & Accounts notes where required.

Requirements:

• Minimum part qualified accountant
• Advanced Excel - Building financial models using Macros and advanced formulas.
• Experience of balance sheet accounting
