Senior Cyber Security Consultant (IoT & OT Focused)

The Role



I am collaborating with a well-established robotics, IoT and Operational Technology Development Company that are seeking seeking a Cyber Security Architect experienced in working with Operational Technology and IoT to join them as a Senior Cyber Security Consultant working within their IoT/OT division

What Are Your Duties?

As a Senior Consultant within my client's Consulting team, you will provide advice direct to clients as well as internally to their product and service development teams. 

You will support and help secure a varied portfolio of new product developments, which is their core business, where they provide clients with ground-breaking solutions at pace. 

You will lead on threat-based risk assessment and then provide pragmatic security solutions in the form of security architectures and advice on technology solutions. Crucially, when providing solutions, you will draw on your and the wider team’s deep understanding of the actual benefit the technology provides.

In addition to supporting my client's product developments you will also provide strategic advice direct to clients. Every day can be very differeant as one day you could be wwith a client making critical investment decisions and the next working on a product development using Quantum technology. 

My client's products are networked Internet of Things (IoT) devices, where they combine their custom sensor technology skills with Artificial Intelligence or other data sciences to create a digital service. 

Your Responsibilities

• Understanding client business and technical needs, building proposals based on these needs and communicating them clearly to the wider team
• You will also use your strong business skills to help communicate what the wider business can deliver to potential clients.
• Interacting with teams across the diverse market and technical base of the business including:
• Working with the Head of Digital Security to identify new opportunities for our business
• Working with the business development team to identify strategic technologies that we can invest in, to target new markets and maintain relevance to our existing clients
• Provide senior leadership in the security domain, acting as reviewer
• Provide mentoring and support for junior engineers within your discipline
• Participate in company-wide security working group to keep development practices and tools up-to-date
• Take responsibility for delivery on consulting projects
• Delivering Security Risk Assessments based on a good understanding of current threats.
• Developing technology solutions that are grounded in a deep understanding of how they mitigate the threats. Developing system architectures and participating in detailed design reviews in collaboration with engineers from other disciplines
• Developing strong commercial relationships with senior client executives during project delivery to ensure expectation of quality and value of projects is met and shaping further sales opportunities

Experience Required

• Substantial experience in delivering advice and technology solutions relevant to the client's business and the role described.

This includes:

• Experience of applying information security principles to product development
• Expertise in at least one of: key management, trusted execution environments, cryptography, and defensive monitoring
• Must be able to obtain UK security clearance
• Experience designing architectures for complex software systems and products
• Understanding of regulatory landscapes for security and privacy
• Expertise in securing embedded systems (hardware or software)
