Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + On-call allowance

6-month Fixed Term Contract

Location: London/ Remote (Moorgate Station)

A System Administrator is required to work for a financial service customer based in central London on an initial 6-month contract. They will be responsible for maintaining; Windows and Linux operating systems, business applications, security tools, web-servers, email, PCs, local and wide area networking both hardware and software, and mid-range server hardware. This role will initially be remote but will require onsite presence and elements of on-call post covid so the ideal candidate must be based a commutable distance from the client site in London by Moorgate Station.

Responsibilities

• 3rd line support across Windows Server 2008 / 2012 / 2016 / 2019.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS tuning utilities and commands.
• Experience configuring Windows OS systems for optimal performance.
• Experience with Windows clustering and high-availability solutions.
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, and Kerberos.
• Good working knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux (6.x, 7.x, 8.x) and Solaris
• Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP Networking Protocols.
• Excellent knowledge of networking, storage, database, and virtualization layers.
• knowledge of cloud computing - IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings across Azure and AWS

Desirable:

• Good working knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux (6.x, 7.x, 8.x) and Solaris
• Good working knowledge of Unix/Linux OS tuning utilities and commands.
• Good working knowledge of ESX VMWare.
• Good working knowledge of Nutanix HCI.
• Container and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Configuration management software such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, and SaltStack.
• Infrastructure as Code principles and practices.
• Excellent knowledge of continuous integration (CI) and continuous development (CD) principles and practices.
• Experience working within financial services
