Lead Cloud Engineer (SC Clearance required to start)

Location: Cheltenham 

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000

Must have current SC Clearance.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global Aerospace and Defence Technology Company. The Lead Cloud Engineer is responsible for providing a primary focus on building and supporting large scale Linux deployments, your experience will cover a variety of technologies, working closely with development teams to understand complex problem sets and apply your skills to solve them. They are looking for someone who has extensive experience in designing, deploying, and administering cloud based solutions across either Amazon Web Service or Microsoft Azure. 

Key Responsibilities

• Extensive experience in designing, deploying, and administering Linux or Unix based solutions, using virtualisation, containerization, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps tools, techniques & procedures.
• Designing, deploying, and administering cloud-based solutions across either Amazon Web Service or Microsoft Azure
• Experience in designing, deploying & troubleshooting IPv4 Networking, including Subnetting, OSPF Routing, VLANs, and VPNs
• Experience in automating tasks using Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Puppet, or Python
• Experience in administering Virtualised or Containerised systems in VMWare or Docker;
• Experience in working within complex or high-security environments.

Technical skills

• Experience in configuring IPv4 routers and firewalls
• Experience in designing, building & maintaining VMWare ESXi clusters
• Experience in using Git or Subversion for configuration control
• Experience in using centralized configuration management services such as Ansible or Puppet
• Experience in using Public Cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
• Experience in using agile collaboration toolings, such as Jira and Confluence
• Knowledge of Scrum or SAFE based Agile Delivery
• Knowledge of ITIL based Service Management delivery.

Desirable Qualifications

• Certified to RHCE equivalent level in one of the appropriate Linux certification bodies, for example, GIAC, LPI, Oracle, RedHat or The Linux Foundation
• Azure Certified Solutions Architect
• GCP Certified Cloud Architect;
• CompTIA Security+
• VMware Certified Professional
