Heat Treat Assistant

2 Shifts available:

Days - £19,000 - £24,000 per year

Nights - £25,000 - £31,000 per year

This position is with a client of mine, based in Thatcham, who is a worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of transmission systems supporting a wide client base covering top level Motorsport and high performance Automotive.

They are currently recruiting for a Day and Nightshift  Heat Treatment Assistant to assist with the Heat Treatment Process in a busy, growing team. This is a great opportunity to develop new skills and grow a career.

The successful candidate will assist the Heat Treatment Technicians with the preparation and processing of parts for Heat Treatment, this will include cleaning parts, applying stop-off compound, assembling fixtures & grit-blasting.

There will be opportunities to gain knowledge of using atmospheric and vacuum heat treatment equipment, undertaking processes such as: carburising, hardening, tempering, stress relieving and gain experience of material coupon preparation for hardness testing as well as operating procedures and effective jigging techniques

About You
Working with furnaces and other machinery you will need to be aware of health and safety practices and procedures and will work in a responsible manner.

Due to the nature of our work, it is imperative that you adhere to department standards and when required create records including quality certificates and process sheets.

Due to the volume in workload applicants should have a flexible approach to working hours with a willingness to work some overtime.
