We are looking for an experienced systems engineer/project engineer to provide technical leadership to a large, complex space-based satellite communications programme through all lifecycle phases including bid, transition to programme start up and programme execution. This individual will be the primary technical interface between business partners, suppliers, customers, and executives in the UK and US.
You will be responsible for:
Capitalising on your technical background and leadership experience to help win and deliver on this critical programme
Guiding the technical team in identifying approaches and finding solutions within unique programmatic constraints, balancing team resources and priorities in a dynamic environment
Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer contract and service/product requirements into integrated enterprise solutions
Effectively communicating complex problems and their path to closure to internal and external partners
Developing plans of work against contract and service requirements
Identifying risks and opportunities within and among the work plans, managing the process, articulating the implications of potential courses of action and harvesting the benefits
Leading and coordinating design and technical reviews
Developing plans to implement new capabilities while protecting the primary mission
Establishing system of systems architecture and CONOPS, perform system level design and decomposition into requirements and key interfaces
Executing system and sub-system trade studies
Using your excellent communication skills to work across the team and customer communities to ensure consensus and understanding of solutions
Space programme experience in a technical discipline through all phases of the space system lifecycle
Knowledge and application of Systems Engineering processes
Strong presentation, written, and negotiation skills.
Ability to take complex issues and effectively communicate them appropriately to teammates, management and customers
Ability to obtain and maintain cooperative relationships. The Candidate must also possess good interpersonal skills and be capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Ability to hold up under intense scrutiny by customers and stay positive, with Can-Do attitude.
Ability to organise effectively, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and complete tasks on time without daily supervision.
Experience with Systems Engineering, Sustainment and Operations of space programmes and delivery of space-based military communications services
Ability to foresee and plan for future expansion of the programme
Experience with Proposal development and/or Basis of Estimate (BOE) development
Ability to get results from teams without direct authority
Ability to represent compelling differentiation through pinpointing value-added opportunities to meet client needs.
Familiarity with Satellite Communications technologies, especially Ground/Networking concepts and Integrated Logistics/Through Life Support and sustainment activities
Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of the daily programme operations
