You will join the world renowned WMG at the University of Warwick to work in the Power Electronics and Electric Machines Group. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team with industrial collaborators delivering projects, primarily funded by Innovate UK (IUK) and EU Horizon 2020, related to the latest technological developments in high performance electric machines and power electronics systems. Successful implementation requires hands-on work with the research team, industrial partners, sub-contractors and site owners and operators.
More specifically, you will initially be fully involved in an APC-funded project aiming at the development of an eDU with an enhanced weight to power ratio, assuming the technical lead role with the support of the co-principal investigator. WMG will embed the design and manufacturing expertise it has developed into UK SMEs, in particular iNetic. The team will develop solutions to manufacturing processes and in process measurements for this core part of the powertrain of an electric vehicle. WMG will also implement system models of the eDU and enhance the in-house models it has for electric machines. In addition, it is expected you will develop new project directions in these rapidly expanding fields beyond the scope of the initial project.
