As a Technician, you will be responsible for supporting mechanical engineering activities with a particular emphasis on machine development and provide support to the site manager on their facilities management duties. In relation to the more hands-on aspects of this technician vacancy, you will need to have a varied background to include both mechanical and electrical work, machine building and assembly, ideally within a development or R&D environment. The work will be very varied depending on the customer and the project so you are guaranteed to be challenged, utilising a variety of skills.
+ Ideally qualified to apprenticeship or City & Guilds level in mechanical engineering or similar.
+ Personality is key! A good sense of humour is a must, as is the ability to work within a team. Culture is everything for them!
+ A solid background in machine building, packaging systems or mechanical build & development. If you have a variety of examples or a portfolio of the applications you have worked on that would be even better!
+ Usage of machine tools - turning & milling would be good.
+ A good knowledge of general engineering principles and the ability to read or perform simple CAD designs/drawings.
