Digital Business Analyst
We are seeking an experienced digital business analyst to join a fast-moving digital team. Our team is leading significant digital transformation across the organisation, including transforming the experience, the technology and our ways of working. We're building products that help our customers manage their energy and their homes
We've put agile, lean and UCD principles front and centre, setting up dedicated autonomous product teams working in a test and learn/MVP manner. We even get our customers through the door every week to check we're doing the right things. This is an opportunity to work with an increasingly ambitious team who want to find the best ways to deliver products our customers love to use.
We're looking for an outstanding digital business analyst to join one of our product teams and help us continuously improve our product. Our teams work using Scrum or Kanban (we let them decide) and you'll be expected to work alongside the Product Owner, developers, testers and architects to create a backlog of user stories, drafting acceptance criteria, and helping manage the prioritisation of these. You’ll help the team understand these stories and work with them to ensure delivery.
You’ll always have an eye on increasing business value through optimisation of the products you create, and you’ll find creative ways of breaking larger product outcomes and features into MVPs, and you’ll champion our product-centric ways of working. We’re looking for analysts who understand that writing the user story itself isn’t their objective, rather that the user story is a confirmation of the team’s understanding.
But we'll expect you to do more than manage a backlog. We're looking for business analysts who go above and beyond to improve their product team's outcomes, getting involved throughout the delivery to create better results.
We also want someone who will bring in new ideas which influence our ways of working across the department, working with other business analysts.
The successful candidate will:
- Have proven experience in working in a product-centric digital environment, producing backlogs of user stories.
- Have proven experience working to lean principles, including helping teams build and understand MVPs.
- Strong experience of requirements elicitation and management
- Have experience working with a range of stakeholders at varying levels
- Have exceptional analytical skills
- Have strong organisation, communication and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of digital delivery practices is a big benefit (e.g. Continuous Integration)
