Research Scientist - Manufacturing Metrology
The role will primarily be involved with the use of measurement equipment including co-ordinate measuring machines to validate components as part of a commercial offering to manufacturers. Ideally, the candidate will have experience in programming CMMs and will have undertaken formal CMM training. An understanding of manufacturing processes would be beneficial as it is likely that the candidate will speak to customers which are primarily small manufacturing organisations.
" With a science or engineering related degree, you have a solid background in research and/or metrology, able to work alone as well as part of a team.
" Good communication skills are essential, this includes both oral and written skills.
" In addition, we expect the candidate to be able to undertake research including literature searches, desktop studies and practical projects.
" You need to have experience of planning and delivering tried and tested research methods, as well as having the potential to explore new ideas yourself.
" The candidate will have a full UK driving licence as the role may require occasional travel to customer sites and occasional nights away from home.
