Your role would be part of UK Supply Chain Organisation managing the total supply chain for goods and services to meet a variety of programme and business requirements. Focussing on managing supplier delivery, it primarily supports the development and production of bespoke systems for armoured vehicles for the UK and international markets, whilst offering the chance to diversify into other sectors.
Success requires experience of working in a functional organisation and a blend of proven skills including relationship building and achievement of deliveries on time and in full, through the ability to successfully negotiate and manage procurements, ranging from simple to complex subcontracts. This will be coupled with effectively working within a multi-disciplinary product team including engineering and quality.
The role focusses on support for vehicles programmes and undertakes activity across multiple categories of goods including build to print, COTs and MOTs (Commercial off the Shelf / Military off the Shelf).
You will be responsible for:
You will work in a programme procurement team for one of our vehicle programmes, which includes a total of about 15 procurement staff. Will also work alongside other members of staff such as engineers.
This role is for a standard Direct Buyer, you must have experience of procuring a mix of engineering/mechanical and electrical COTS/MOTS (Commercial off the Shelf / Military off the Shelf) and Build to Print (BTP) components and equipment. You must have experience of the fundamental commercial elements of procurement such as RFQs, analysing quotes, selecting vendors, negotiation with vendors etc.
