1st Line Support Analyst

This client are leaders in developing and maintaining the national primary measurement standards. They are a Public Corporation owned by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). They undertake excellent science and engineering to deliver extraordinary impact for the UK and provide the measurement capability that underpins the UK's prosperity and quality of life. From accelerating new antibiotics and more effective cancer treatments to developing unhackable quantum communications and superfast 5G, expertise is crucial in researching, developing and testing new products and processes.
As a 1st Line Support Analyst, you’ll assess and resolve 1st line hardware and software issues, as well as be involved in training to develop your existing skillset to undertake 2nd line responsibilties.
The IT Service Desk acts as a single point of contact for all IT related issues. They are looking for a highly motivated, driven individual with a strong customer first attitude to join the IT Service Desk team. Able to adapt knowledge to new and unfamiliar and bespoke situations. To provide 1st Line technical support and deliver a high level of customer service to end users on a mixed range of devices, computer applications and platforms. Including diagnosing hardware/software faults and solving technical problems, either over the phone, email or face to face.
End user application support experience including Microsoft products eg Office365, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint)
Unified comms platforms (eg Skype for Business)
Various Windows OS (including Win 10)
Wide ranging experience of basic hardware support including:
Multi-vendor desktop and laptops
ITSM Tool (e.g FreshService)
AV equipment – projectors, LCD screens etc.
Good experience of using, configuring and troubleshooting mobile devices including telephony
You’ll need to have 1st line experience working on a busy helpdesk or service desk. Good customer-facing skills are absolutely essential, meaning your communication skills will need to be as strong as your technical knowledge.
