2nd Line Support Analyst

About the Role
This client are leaders in developing and maintaining the national primary measurement standards. They are a Public Corporation owned by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). They undertake excellent science and engineering to deliver extraordinary impact for the UK and provide the measurement capability that underpins the UK's prosperity and quality of life. From accelerating new antibiotics and more effective cancer treatments to developing unhackable quantum communications and superfast 5G, expertise is crucial in researching, developing and testing new products and processes.
As a 2nd Line Support Analyst, you’ll assess and resolve 2nd line hardware and software issues, as well as provide training to the junior members, Supporting the 1st Line team and acting as a point of escalation for more challenging issues, you’ll diagnose the issue, research it and come up with a solution (referring it on to 3rd Line if needed). At every step of the way, you’ll keep the customer informed – delivering training, supporting information and writing up user guides to minimise repeat calls. And once a problem has been resolved, you’ll close out the incident in a timely manner. In addition, you’ll set up AV and meeting equipment, provide service desk cover and get involved with special projects. We’ll also expect you to develop your skills and knowledge as technology advances, as well as share your knowledge with 1st Line Support and end-users.
You already have 2nd line support experience and are used to dealing with hardware and software related issues. A natural problem-solver with great communication skills, you enjoy helping people.
