The Role

Due to their continued success, an excellent award-winning consultancy are looking for an experienced Principal Highways Engineer to join their office in Birmingham.

This is an amazing, unique opportunity to develop a new highways team in Birmingham supported by the wider business, including a strong and knowledgeable team in South Yorkshire. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress towards an Associate Director role by growing the team and safely delivering design projects on time and to budget.

You will be working closely with the Regional Director to win and effectively deliver work, initially utilising expertise in other offices until a strong knowledge base is built in the Birmingham office.  

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Ability to provide highways design expertise to current standards including to DMRB.
• Working knowledge in a BIM environment and use of Bentley MX Road is essential
• Power Civil and Inroads; and AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is also desirable
• Commercial and financial knowledge and capability
• Strong interpersonal skill and management capability    
• A team player capable of leading and focusing team members to achieve objectives
• Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work well under pressure

The wider business has an excellent portfolio of work in a variety of sectors with a wide range of clients; from national infrastructure projects through to international energy projects.

They are currently actively working in Construction, Transportation, Defence, Energy and Aviation; as well as a wide range of blue chip and government clients.
