Shift Pattern Earlies / Lates
We are recruiting for an Engine Test Technician to join the Powertrain Engine Test Centre. The successful role holder will be responsible for end-to-end customer test programmes, from engine installation through to running test programmes. The Technician will then use this information to generate test reports to meet customer requirements.
Role Responsibilities
" Ensure all Health and Safety and quality procedures have been adhered to
" Deliver turn-key calibration development projects for a variety of customers
" Good knowledge of engine development and testing techniques
" Run customer engine test programs with high efficiency
" Validation of engine test data to a high standard
" Generate test reports to meet customer requirements
" Generate engine installation schematics for correct test bed setups
" Identify engine faults and problems to lead effective solutions
" Analysing and presenting data and results to customers and peers
" Provide technical support to customers and business development
" Work well within a team environment
" Develop initiatives to reduce waste and optimise efficiency
" Develop best working practises and provide training to others
" Act in accordance with the behaviours for Millbrook staff at all times
Criteria:
Qualifications
" Must have a sound automotive background preferably in a testing environment
" Experience in an automotive engineering discipline
" Strong understanding of gasoline and diesel engine operation
Skills
" Understanding of complex engines, testing techniques and associated equipment and tools
" Organised with good communication skills
" Attention to detail
" A strong background in the use of engine test cell equipment software including emissions measurement, combustion analysis and calibration tools
" Skills in electronic, electrical and mechanical engine diagnostics
" Strong IT skills especially MS Excel
