Test Evaluation & Acceptance Manager (Aerospace Avionics Electronic Warfare)
The Test Evaluation & Acceptance Manager is responsible for applying discipline domain expertise to the integration, qualification and test of new products and technologies.
The Engineer will typically be part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) and will contribute to the performance of the IPT to ensure that the performance expectations are met or exceeded. The Engineer will have responsibility for the integration and test of the products developed for the business.
This will include, but is not limited to, development of the test plans and test infrastructure required to enable the verification of the requirements and the design, implementation and completion of the qualification tests.
The Engineer will provide the necessary documentation required by the Design Office to support end use certification. The Engineer shall employ the appropriate processes, practices and tools to ensure that responsibilities are completed to meet the required project requirements with the needed quality.
What are the key skills you feel the role requires?
Deep domain knowledge, with experience in the application of that knowledge to the entire product life cycle from inception to delivery
Good understanding of one or more of the following: avionic, electrical and mechanical qualification, certification principles, regulatory requirements and compliance
Familiar with aerospace and defence industries, markets, products and technologies
The ability to work within a large organization in a matrix management structure
Strong technical report writing and presentation skills
Familiarity with engineering processes, practices and measures of performance for the discipline
Ability to obtain a SC Security Clearance
Proven ability to work and deliver, to time pressure and deadlines
Required discipline expertise:
Familiarity with the product lifecycle from system requirements, architecture, design, integration, qualification, verification, through to production and support
10 or more years of experience in the integration, qualification and test of one or more of the following: radar, electronic warfare, communications and / or surveillance systems for an airborne environment
Expertise in the integration, qualification and test of products containing RF, analogue and digital hardware, software and embedded software
Experience of aircraft systems, platform integration, and associated regulatory environment including, but not limited to security, EMC, TEMPEST, RoHS, WEEE, Mil Stds, Def Stans, EASA, FAA
Top 3/4 Evaluation Criteria (Hard Skills)
1) A Senior Engineer with hands on experience managing activity as opposed to people
2) Will have looked after qualification, requirements, design and acceptance from a Customer
3) Have experience of Systems Integration & Test (Electrical, Network, Software and Systems)
4) Aware of Product Life Cycle processes.
Is there any flexibility on any of the above?
RF experience would be highly desirable, but is not essential
