This company are involved in the design, development and manufacture of electronic displays, consoles and protection systems for the Defence, Naval and commercial domains. Due to a large project win for a Defence and Naval client, they are looking for a number of contract mechanical design engineers to implement Engineering Change Requests into drawings, bill of materials and documents to create clean drawing packs ready for the next phase of product build.
You will be working on the design of large, sheetmetal assemblies - 19" racking systems, Electronics packaging, Enclosures and components etc
Design of shock & vibration test frames and internal countermeasures for Servers
Wash-up of all design changes into full drawing packs
Excellent proven ability using ProE WildFire5 and/or Creo 3 CAD, 3D and 2D Design
Proven ability in the design and detailing of large, electromechanical assemblies - Rugged enclosures, racks etc
Knowledge of Modelling piece parts and assemblies and producing detail and assembly drawing for manufacture
Excellent attention to detail
Design for EMC considerations
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrications and welded assemblies
This position would suit a mechanical design engineer with a background within the Naval, Defence, Aerospace, Automotive, Marine, Nuclear or Telecoms industries
