Principal Embedded Systems Engineer

As a Principal Embedded Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for leadership across a global business developing the processes and future strategy associated with embedded systems hardware and software covering all elements of the lifecycle from design through to testing and validation.
" Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to deliver and integrate the latest hardware and software products ensuring they meet standards - Safety, security, interfaces etc
" Reviewing supplier proposals/quotes to ensure business is getting the robust, capable, appropriate and cost effective hardware and software to meeting needs
" Developing standard requirements for software delivery and hardware to ensure that all integrated technology will survive in the environment
" Working with business units to develop specifications, perform gap analysis and help review supplier proposals
" Driving an improved software test and validation process, covering supplier testing through to on-machine testing to ensure good coverage and compliance with appropriate coding standards (such as MISRA)
" Developing strategy for an appropriate architecture covering hardware, middleware, firmware, high-level control, low-level control and interfaces
" Degree qualified or equivalent preferably with the focus being either control system engineering, software engineering or embedded systems
" A wide range of skills in an embedded system environment ideally within Agricultural or Off-highway machinery, Automotive, Aerospace etc
" Excellent knowledge of design/support/specification of embedded systems
" Understanding of testing and test design of embedded systems
" It would be beneficial to have an understanding of hardware in the loop / software in the loop / model in the loop environments.
" V Model lifecycle and approach and associated tools (DOORs)
" Software coding to appropriate standards (i.e. MISRA C).
" CAN Networks and tools
" Model based software/control development - Matlab, Simulink etc.
" Conducting Software audits / supplier audits.
" Relocation support available, 6% pension employer contribution, Healthcare, Company Doctor, Dentist & Physio available.
" Up to £50,000 depending on experience.
