This client is a premium vehicle manufacturer with a heritage that can be traced back to a company that began by making motorcycle sidecars in 1922. They are now a leader in premium saloon and sports cars, as well as all-terrain vehicles.
Charging Systems is an area within the Powertrain Electrification Group that takes Customer-Requirements, translates them into engineering units and designs a distributed system to meet them. We have responsibility for liaising with many areas including other engineering groups and programme management. Our designs are implemented on all plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles. Within the team, we design, validate and verify the systems to a premium level. The Charging Features Engineer is responsible for the first stage in the design of the System, requiring a sympathy for Human Factors, Engineering and Component deliverables and is required to deliver a robust, agreed design that can be further decomposed into engineering designs.
2 key skills required:
Knowledge of Human Factors in vehicle design
Ability to work and communicate with others at multiple levels, including close liaison with Marketing, Human Factors and Engineering
Degree in Engineering or similar desirable
Knowledge of automotive product development
