We are looking for a software and controls expert to join the Systems & Controls Group in Nottingham. You will join the Systems & Controls Group and lead the end-to-end development of complex transmission controls systems across a wide range of applications.
You will get the opportunity to work from requirements capture and management through to system integration, verification and validation. You will provide technical leadership and help deliver projects and technical proposals for a wide range of applications working on innovative technologies for a world leading drive system solution expert.
Competencies and Experience:
As a Transmission Controls Engineer, you will need to demonstrate the following competences/experience:
Transmission controls development experience, ideally in the automotive, off-highway, or motorsport sectors.
In-depth knowledge of automated transmission systems and their controls.
Working knowledge of AMT, AT, DCT and their actuation systems.
Strong background in control algorithm design, implementation and verification.
Familiar with the use of HIL and other rapid-prototype control systems.
Experience of control systems validation and calibration on test rigs, dynos and prototype vehicles.
Working knowledge of vehicle communication networks.
Knowledge of commercially available calibration and measurement tools, such as CANape, INCA, ATI Vision, CANalyzer, etc.
Proficient in Matlab/Simulink.
Familiar with functional safety requirements and the ISO26262 standards.
Experience in working on both sides of the development V-cycle.
An appreciation of Systems Engineering principles.
Experience in developing transmission controls for hybrid or fully-electric vehicles would be preferable.
Knowledge of hybrid powertrain fundamentals would be an advantage, such as e-machine, power electronics, battery, etc
First class degree or upper 2nd in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
