Are you a Design Engineer looking for your next challenge?
I am currently recruiting for not 1 but 2 Design Engineers to join on a permanent basis paying between £30,000-£35,000p/a (depending on level of experience) due to the expansion in work load in Hampshire.
As a Design Engineer you will be required to provide technical support to the sales and project teams for all aspects of the project related to design. Also to develop cost effective, regulation compliant solutions within acceptable time frames. and also you must have the ability to read and understand mechanical / electrical, architectural and construction drawings and specifications.
What you will be doing on a day to day basis:
-Produce designs for smoke control and performance louvre systems for all building types including retail, residential, industrial, commercial and car parks.
- Specialist design of duct work systems, including fan selection and pressure drop calculations.
-Design of pressurisation systems.
- Noise calculations.
- Where reasonable, meet deadlines set by the client and sales team. Where this isn't possible communicate this to the relevant parties indicating the date that will be achieved.
-Consider alternate solutions based on information provided by the client to ensure the most cost effective & efficient solution is proposed.
- Provide technical advice to sales staff and customers via phone and email.
What you are expected to know:
-Be fully conversant in reading architectural, mechanical and construction drawings
-Have an in depth knowledge of system design and application
-Proficient in AutoCAD
-Ability to communicate technical details of a design solution at all levels across a range of media.
-Advanced user of Microsoft WORD, Outlook, Powerpoint and especially EXCEL (creating design programs)
-Need to hold a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building services or Engineering Design.
This role would suit someone who has a Building services or equivelent background and someone who has a good work ethos and an ability to apply themselves when a deadline needs to be met.
Please note : This role is not working on the typical Product design this will be all about the systems side.
