You will be involved in the complete life-cycle responsibility for bespoke hydraulic, 3 phase motor & DC motor control systems for a range of marine systems - specification, costing, design, commissioning and fault finding on installed systems.
New product development – you will design electric and electronic controls for high-volume products. The goal will be to produce the best solution, to tight cost margins and on time.
You will actively seek to improve functionality and reduce cost on new and existing systems wherever possible.
This role demands a high level of independence, and the ability to handle multiple R&D and design projects running concurrently. You may be required to produce rapid solutions to engineering challenges, and this will often necessitate researching subjects outside of current experience to produce an informed decision and action.
Whilst the position demands electrical design experience, electronics design experience will be greatly advantageous.
The role will be very hands-on and a suitable applicant must be able to build prototypes and solutions where required.
Your starting salary will be commensurate to your skill level and will be competitive. Benefits will include 25-days annual holiday and a company pension scheme will be offered after a probationary period.
