You will work with a prestigious client base of OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers across a wide range of automotive and aerospace technologies.
As part of a truly innovative team who produce ground breaking technology you will develop and deliver a top-class Materials Management function including Planning, Purchasing, Stores and Logistics to support both prototype and low volume manufacture whilst ensuring that all project cost, delivery and quality needs are met.

As the Materials and Purchasing Manager you will:
·Manage the planning, purchasing, stores and logistics functions for prototype and low volume motorsport, automotive, aerospace and motor and inverter projects.
·Manage a multi-disciplined team, acting as a role model and providing guidance and training where required.
·Develop and embed solid purchasing and planning processes including MRP and the link with the Master Production Schedule and operating within quality systems such as SPAP and PPAP.
·Build and develop our specialist supplier base, building strong working relationships and negotiating agreements with suppliers in the UK and abroad.
·Influence P&L within the business - driving cost improvements, waste reduction and VA/VE.
·Develop and deliver a continually evolving materials management strategy.
·Manage the operation, maintenance and development of the ERP System (currently Sage200 Manufacturing).
·Build, develop and maintain the required level of resources to meet the business needs in terms of material planning, materials management, materials movement and traceability.
·Ensure that material planning systems, including MRP, BOM Management and Works Order Management are maintained and developed to meet ever-changing business needs.
·Manage and develop the tools for BOM creation and maintenance.
·Provide accurate kits of materials for critical build projects.
·Provide the business with a best-in-class material stock solution.
·Management of stores and logistics including goods in and out and any associated transportation requirements.
·Ensure that the principles of 6S are applied in all material management areas and that systematic approach to achieving the required standards is in place.
·Strong experience of leading Planning, Purchasing, Stores and Logistics functions, able to lead by example and lead key supplier negotiations where required.
·Experience within the automotive / motorsport / aerospace industry is desirable - good understanding of automotive quality systems such as SPAP and PPAP.
·Previous Technical Buying experience in a low to medium volume precision/motorsport / aerospace manufacturing environment is desirable.
·Capable of training and mentoring a multi-disciplined team.
·Strong experience working in a low to medium volume precision/motorsport, automotive or aerospace manufacturing environment.
·Proven leadership skills and experience in a supply chain or materials function.
·Have detailed knowledge and understanding of multi layered Bills of Materials and component set ups.
·Strong communication skills with both internal and external parties.
·Excellent knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, preferably Sage 200 Manufacturing.
·Capable of building and developing a high performing, multi-disciplined team.
