The Bid Manager is responsible for assembling and managing the bid, the process and stakeholders to prepare winning bids. The Bid Manager will use the bid process, flexing as necessary, to efficiently manage and own the end to end process relevant to their bid delivering the submission on time and in full. This will include, where relevant, the ability to deliver or present the bid in territory. The Bid Manager will be responsible for multi-year, multi level (PQQ, ITT, and RFP) and high profile strategic bids. This will involve working closely with the sales team, pre-sales resource, SDMs and general service delivery teams. It will require a consultative approach coupled with a good technical understanding.
" Manage the bid qualification (bid go / no go) process for new opportunities.
" Lead storyboard sessions with bid / proposal team members and key stakeholders.
" Proactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts.
" Develop a proposal structure.
" Document template management in line with company branding
" Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant
" Deliver completed written proposal responses against agreed RFP deadlines, escalating issues as required.
" Re-write / edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, technical / product teams, finance, commercial, legal and delivery.
" Actively coach sales teams and subject matter experts in writing best practice.
" Collate all new proposal content for addition to the knowledgebase for potential re-use.
" Preparing and reviewing the commercial aspects of the bid, ensuring all services are included in the final price to the customer
" Risk tracking and management throughout the bid process
" Contributing to the written proposal - both in terms of content and presentation (such as preparation of a management summary)
" Manage the bid budget
" Arrange all post bid reviews with customers, post contract award
" Excellent attention to detail.
" High level of experience and knowledge of IT solutions and products
" Experience of proposal automation software (or similar) experience.
" Strong time management / prioritisation skills
" Strong written English language skills
" Demonstrable track record of success in a senior level position within a commercial IT services and/or IT managed services provider.
" Highly self-motivated, with the desire to succeed and meet both personal and professional goals.
" Able to take a planned and organised approach to workload, prioritise urgent tasks effectively in order to meet deadlines and work with the required level of attention to detail.
" High levels of commitment, with the willingness to contribute additional effort if required.
" Strong and confident communicator, with the ability to communicate with others in a professional and business like manner.
" Demonstrable presentation and negotiation skills to a high level, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
" Able to work confidently to meet targets and deadlines in a structured
