Pre-Sales Engineer - Remote/London
36.5 hours per week
General Description of Role
A global internet infrastructure company who are world class experts at analyzing and interpreting billions of internet queries a day. Using this expertise, engineers developed the "turing DNS based Threat Intelligence and Cyber Security platform" to help organisations understand their internet traffic in order to prescribe solutions to combat cyber security threats. The actionable threat intelligence data is used by companies globally to understand their cyber security risk profile. This allows them to mitigate business impact from potential cyber attacks.
Looking to aggressively expand it's cyber security business and is seeking an experienced Pre-Sales Engineer to help secure new clients and drive forwared successful customer engagements.
The Pre-Sales Engineer will play a vital role in growing the cyber security business unit by supporting the Sales, Technical, Marketing and Product teams working in the New Product and Business Development (NPBD) organization with pre and post-technical sales activities. In this role you will be working with prospective customers and existing clients in order to articulate data analytics and cyber security offerings. This involves demonstrations, identifying which products and services best match the prospective client's needs/requirements and responding to technical inquiries.
Lead internally within the NPBD organization to identify customer business objectives and success criteria. Conduct solution demonstrations, deliver proof of concepts and support ongoing technical discussions with end users during the sales process.
Assist the Business Development (BD) Team during meetings with prospects and existing customers. Collaborate on customer issues, pricing models, product and/or service trials and solution architecture.
Represent the BD Team by responding to proposals, leveraging technical expertise and being accountable for the architecture of proposed solutions.
Provide support on customer questions related to products and services in a professional and courteous manner.
Key result areas
Ability to drive sales with the BD Team through effective demonstration and communication of product and service value to customers.
Collaborative, productive working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders (both internal and external).
Core skills and qualifications
Substantial experience in a technical sales role.
Excellent communication skills. Particularly the ability to relate capabilities and benefits to customers in the industry in a way that differentiates our offerings from competitors.
Strong analytical skills and business acumen, with the ability to discern 'must have' market requirements from 'nice to have' requirements.
Strong knowledge of internet, virtualization and networking technologies that include: Unix/Linux, TCP/IP, UDP, and DNS.
Experience with at least one scripting language.
Experience with at least one relational database technology.
Must be a collaborative team player with BD, Marketing, and Product development teams.
Hands-on approach with customers and a full commitment to customer success.
Willingness to travel 50% of the time.
