We are looking for a Production Manager who can ensure the readiness for delivery with production, quality and efficiency This role will require the individual to work to targets, whilst leading and developing high performance teams.
Adhere to H&S rules and regulations
Be an excellent communicator at all levels
Agree and set budgets
Managing the following departments; Assembly, Test, Hire & Repair, Stores whilst managing 8 Supervisors heading up 7 Production Cells and Stores
Budget Responsibility: Operating Budget >£1.5m
Single shift site with products made to order, volumes ranging from one-offs to batches of 20+, typically 10,000+ units manufactured annually
Looking after Production responsibility across the entire range of product portfolio of 45 standard product range plus bespoke products and prototypes
Full range of basic hand assembly techniques, wiring, crimping, soldering plus specialised transducer assembly methods
Full range of manual and automated PCB and product test methods (scopes, DVMs and bespoke jigs) and equipment utilised. In water testing of finished products
Internal interfaces: Engineering, Materials Control (Purchasing and Planning), Sales Order Processing, Quality, HSE, HR, Finance, Facilities, Senior Management etc
External interfaces: Customer audit teams, suppliers visits, customer visits
Travel requirements: Limited local UK travel to attend scheduled Manufacturing events, benchmarking visits, personal training etc
o Degree qualified in engineering/manufacturing related discipline
o Diploma in Production and Operations Management or equivalent
o If you had Black Belt Six Sigma this would be highly advantageous
o IOSH for Managers (minimum)
o Demonstrable working knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma and change management techniques
o IPC 610 workmanship standards for PCB's, wiring, soldering etc
o Up to date awareness of HSE regulations and requirements across electro mechanical processes and activities
o Advanced level user of ERP (knowledge of SYSPRO desirable)
o Extensive operational and supervisory/managerial experience within an electro/mechanical manufacturing sector (essential)
o Proven success in consistent timely delivery of production targets meeting required quality standards and cost parameters
o Proven ability to develop and implement operational KPI's to report production performance output and efficiencies
o Proven success at middle/senior management level with evidence of effective team leadership and people management skills across manufacturing employees including supervisory manufacturing and operational staff
o Demonstrable effective collaborative working style and evidence of positive internal departmental relationships with Engineering, Production Planning, Purchasing, Stores, Sales, Quality, HSE, HR functions etc
o Successful track record of applying continuous improvement throughout manufacturing operations with measurable results
o Managing effective apprentice schemes
Excellent Personal Skills are required to work with individuals at all levels within the company.
