Our client has an urgent need for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their team in Aberdeen! You will be required to provide Engineering expertise on projects globally and across the full project life cycle. The role would particularly suit candidates who have previous experience within the ROV services industry specifically focused on the design, analysis and installation of structural steelwork on offshore rigs and vessels.
Key Attributes required for this position are:
Extensive experience in the design, analysis and installation of structural steelwork on offshore rigs and vessels.
A proven track record in coordinating structural engineering design teams as an integral part of a multidiscipline project.
Chartered or approaching Chartered Engineer status.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide structural stability and integrity calculations for steel frame structures primarily for ROV installations on offshore sites.
Structural design and detailing in accordance with acknowledged industry Codes, Standards and Design Guides (e.g. API, DNV, Lloyds, AISC); Client Specifications and Scopes of Work.
Production and checking of design documentation including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, design specifications, material take-offs, weight control calculations, etc.
Provide input to, check and approve structural fabrication drawings
Coordinate structural engineering support to the execution of multidiscipline projects in line with defined budget and schedule.
Liaise with associated subsea related disciplines and understand the interfaces within a project
Provide structural engineering assistance during mobilisations and periods of offshore or site working.
Provide structural engineering support to Business Acquisition and FEED study execution.
Train / mentor junior and Graduate Engineers.
Actively participate in relevant training to pursue continuing professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
Candidates should be educated to degree level or above in either structural engineering or Naval Architecture.
Candidates should demonstrate or have a willingness to undertake role specific training and development.
Membership of a relevant engineering institute is advantageous.
