About The Job
We are seeking a day shift etcher to operate and run various laser etching machines and any other relevant machines to identify transmission parts with part/serial numbers in compliance with company quality standard.
Reporting to the Inspection manager, you will be responsible for setting machines for 1st off whilst adhering to etching standards and any relevant customer care points, checking 1st offs and completing all necessary job cards and documentation. Etching will be on a range of high technology mechanical manufactured components for our innovative transmission systems used by the World’s top racing teams including Formula 1, IndyCar, Sportscar and Rally.
Our transmissions are also being used in the next generation of ultra-high performance hybrid and EV hypercars. You will work to a departmental schedule, undertake day to day machine maintenance, prioritise your work in the absence of a team leader of manager and address any manufacturing issues. The successful candidate will locate, store and maintain all appropriate tooling which is linked to the process, observe the health and safety rules at all times and follow the company quality procedures.
Good levels of concentration and communication are a must, as are being able to work well under pressure, and have the ability to use your initiative when working unsupervised and as part of a team. You should be willing and have a flexible attitude to overtime, as this will be required on a regular basis over the standard 40 hour week.
