Salary - Competitve and dependent on experience
We’re looking for someone who can take on some of our vulnerability research - we would be aiming for about a 50:50 mix of commercial work and internal research.
We can be a bit flexible in terms of the specific skillset, however there is one area we are very keen to cover and that is cryptography. Typically this would be for engagements where a client has developed a system which uses cryptography in some way – blockchain systems are a particular favourite at the moment – and wants us to look for weaknesses.
The ideal candidate will:
Other useful skills/experience could include:
Practical experience with crypto isn’t essential provided you have the theoretical knowledge, but you’d need to have practical experience with some form of security research at a comparable level of technical complexity.
A track record of finding CVEs would be a good indicator of suitability, but this isn’t essential because you could be someone who has mainly done defensive work, or from a government background where publications are not encouraged.
Since some of the work will be commercial engagements, the ideal candidate would be someone we can safely put in front of a client and who can write a decent report. However, technical skills would be the main priority.
Most of the work (including most of the commercial engagements) can be carried out remotely
