Buyer –Birmingham– Permanent - £28,000 - £40,000 DOE

ARM have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join one of our clients on a permanent basis in Birmingham  

The Role:

The Buyer will undertake the delivery of tactical sourcing activity for business unit spend. Support for category strategy development and delivering projects/programs to translate these strategies into validated cost savings.

Responsibilities:

• Manage transactional buying desk activities and support wider strategic category management
• Support of local category sourcing
• Work closely with category managers and business units to establish and deliver procurement requirements
• Ensure highest ethical principles and standards are implemented
• Ensures products and services are purchased in the most cost- and time-efficient manner
• Evaluates, re-tenders, renegotiates or extends contracts and suppliers in order to facilitate tactical and strategic sourcing with relevant stakeholders
• Deliver additional value operational buying activities
• Quotation analysis and recommendations, consideration suitability/reliability of suppliers to meet operational

Requirements:

• Educated to a degree in business or technical.
• Ideally MCIPS qualified.
• 1-3 years Procurement Experience
• Experience in tactical/operational buying
• Ideally experienced in category management
• Fluent written and verbal English is a must, other languages a plus
• Willing to cooperate in international projects.
• Experience in multiple industry sectors considered a plus
