Calling all electrical / mechanical specialist satellite technician required for on-going contract position based in the Hampshire area of Portsmouth.
Our client is a global leader in aeronautics, space and related services. A vacancy has arisen for a Specialist Satellite Technician working on their prime satellite platform that will land on Mars or explore the sun's realm.

We are looking for competent candidates who are able to perform electrical / mechanical integration activities with the following skills:
" Highly competent at wiring activities, manufacture and integration of flight harness and test harness (crimping, soldering, looming, routing and repairs)
" Quality control inspections with excellent engineering hand skills
" Use of basic hand tools (torque tools, screwdrivers, spanners, measurement tools and etc.)
" Test instrumentation integration (thermocouples, heater circuits and accelerometers)
" Interpreting technical documentation (schematical drawings, wiring diagrams, 2D and 3D General Assembly Drawings, technical notes and integration procedures)
" Support movement and lifting operations using overhead crane and other MGSE (Mechanical Ground Support Equipment).
Involved in this project may be required to travel to other UK and International sites at short notice. Please identify on submission if this great experience is not an option for you.
Ideally you will possess a HNC or HND in an engineering production or maintenance field with an Apprenticeship in Aerospace/Space or other high quality production or maintenance field.
You will be capable of:
" ESA, aerospace or other high quality wiring experience (Flight and test harness manufacture, check out and installation)
" Harness securing methods and Installation and removal coaxial cables / DC harnesses
" Detailed assembly and integration with strong, demonstrable experience of using hand tools / Knowledge on RF systems
Most frequently used shift pattern Shift early 06:00hrs to 14:00 hrs / Shift late 14:00 hrs to 22:00 hrs - Monday to Friday. Some weekend working Saturday or Sunday may be required at peak times.
Contract Duration: 6 months Contractor Ltd Co. Rate: Competitive
