Due to growth, a world renowned manufacturer is looking for a Senior Supply Chain Manager to manage Production material supply from order intake and Supplier Schedules, through to the manufacture and delivery to the customer.
The role encompasses all aspects of material planning and logistics to establish current and future new model introduction; determining the Supplier strategy (in conjunction with the Procurement team) and the subsequent tactical plans to implement change whilst maintaining the daily operational needs.
Close relationships with Suppliers, Procurement, Manufacturing and the Supply Chain Pipeline teams are pivotal in ensuring optimal Supplier Delivery performance, with minimal Arrears and no misfits to line.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Lead and manage the Inbound Supply Teams in collaboration with entire Procurement function, ensuring smooth running of all Production Components to line.
Develop and assign objectives in support of the Procurement Department Strategy and objectives.
Ensure production parts ordering and delivery to site
Manage daily supply chain issues - handle customer interface and delivery in a JIT environment through supplier adherence to schedules.
Take the lead in resolving Supplier Delivery issues, supported by Procurement and STA teams.
Project management for the implementation of any new logistics facilities, IT and processes to support.
Strong problem-solving skills and facilitation of countermeasure throughout operation to improve timeliness and service standards to manufacturing team (customer)
Strong Inventory management with robust financial reporting & compliance and departmental budget control, minimising obsolescence
Lead multiple Transformation and Manufacturing Operations Strategy workstreams relating to Material Resource Planning and wider Supply Chain activity.
Support Procurement, Operations and Manufacturing with strong KPI performance, aligning annual objectives and target driven scorecard reviews.
The ideal profile will be educated to Degree level, have a good understanding of cyclical logistics processes and Supply Chain areas in general. You will have the ability to facilitate multi-functional groups, 3rd party operators and achieve process improvement, have a good grasp of company-wide production planning, adherence & relationship to manufacturing processes, understand Supplier Performance management, logistics optimisation and related KPI's.
You will have a knowledge of dynamic manufacturing environment and supply chain preferred as need to manage rapid change and time critical environment - JIT, Kanban and Lean working methods. MRP/ERP scheduling systems in a flow process with strong process thinking
The role provides a salary circa £55,000 per annum + 20% bonus potential + Pension Scheme+ 26 days’ annual leave + Health Cover + Corporate Benefits/Discounts
