Project Leader NPI
Shrewsbury (commutable from Wrexham, Stoke, Stafford, Wolverhampton, Birmingham)
Project Leader NPI to lead global Engineering & NPI Teams working on Military Drive Train projects. You will be expected to lead the execution of Business Unit focused Engineering & NPI Projects. This will be done by establishing a project management plan to manage service and product delivery, and where applicable planning and managing the resources required for implementing change. The timeliness and value of the introduction of engineering solutions and new products is intrinsically linked to our growth and sustainability, therefore it is a vital part of the Shrewsbury site, so success is measured via key site metrics.
" Independently facilitating the introduction of new products that contribute significant Enterprise financial benefits on time and to budget utilising the NPI process.
" Profiling & Managing Product Engineering Projects, ensuring all technical requirements of internal and external customers are met whilst maintaining committed timescales and budgets
" Leadership of global project teams
" Creation of project plans and identification of resource requirements
" Building relationships with other departments, industry associations and outside organisations
" Assisting in marketing the NPI process to customers
" Identifying cost containment opportunities
" Identifying trends and areas of focus for continuous improvement
" Previous experience in delivering multiple projects concurrently, ensuring deadlines and budgets are maintained
" Previous experience of managing NPI projects, with exceptional knowledge of NPI and other associated processes.
" Previous experience of managing Product Engineering Projects and providing high level technical support to the team
" Previous experience of team leadership, setting requirements and deliverables
" Ability to influence and communicate with diverse team members
" Excellent PC skills with specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications such as Microsoft Project, Powerpoint and Excel
" Ability to promote creative problem solving within self and others
" Willingness and enthusiasm to succeed in an expanding role
" Numerical aptitude with the ability to learn
" The successful candidate must be able to pass the security clearance criteria
" 6 Sigma black belt qualifications (or a recognised Project Management certificate)
" Military and Remanufacturing business / product knowledge
" Prior experience of operating within an Engineering / Technical environment
