Powertrain electrification is an increasingly prevalent within the automotive sector so this is your opportunity to join a globally recognised technologically advanced powertrain team to drive their electrification capabilities forward.
Your role will be to act as the technical lead for the company in the growing area of Electric Powertrain. You will represent the company at technical conferences and customer meetings. and assist in the growth of the business in this area and develop a growing team and facilities to enable them to maximise business opportunities available.
Duties
To develop and maintain a level of expertise within powertrain electrification
To plan skills and facility requirements required to support the business needs
To assist in the recruitment of suitable candidates required to fill any skill gaps identified
To support the business development and sales process relating to powertrain electrification
Define project work scope, deliverables and project timing
To plan and supervise engineering projects
To work together with analysis, design, development and calibration engineers
To analyse test results, prepare technical reports and create test plans
To support the design of parts for development testing
To liaise with program suppliers, internal and external customers
To prepare engineering program quotations
To prepare technical papers and presentations
Responsible for the quality of the test data, results analysis and reporting
Supervision and development of less experienced staff
Participate in research programmes
Contribute to planning of future research activities
A Degree in Engineering (Mechatronics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering preferred)
Previous experience in relevant automotive role
Skills and Experience
Sound numeracy skills and good knowledge of automotive electrification
Good computer literacy
An experienced user of MS software: Word, Excel, Power Point, Project
Able to lead and motivate a team of engineers
Excellent communication skills
Strong negotiation skills
Presentation skills in both a business development capacity and as a means of providing project status to the customer
Good facilitator of meetings is desirable
The ability to identify and control risks to an engineering program is desirable
Good time management & delegation skills are desirable
A proven track record of managing an automotive engineering project through to completion
Managing and leading teams of greater than 10 engineers
