Proposal Author and Bid manager: (London based)
The discipline of bid management brings together an array of technical, business, management, selling and writing skills that are critical to delivering proposals and RFP responses that win business in a competitive environment.
Spread awareness of Bids and Proposals best practice throughout the organisation
Keep content libraries under constant review with regular updates
Develop and maintain proposal templates for proposal sections
Maintain proposal document look and feel including corporate branding, layout, messaging and quality
Apply corporate proposal methodology
Builds and maintain unsolicited proposal libraries
Own and maintain the organisation's bid process
Individual RFP Response Duties
Determine proposal win themes by evaluating customer's specific and implied needs as expressed in the customer's requests for proposal (RFPs);
Hold proposal strategy meetings.
Project manage proposal and bid production meeting all bid deadlines setting priorities and overseeing section authors/Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
Define standards, corporate voice and messaging when setting writing assignments to SMEs
Develop proposal document in compliance with customer requirements
Drive proposal quality by evaluating content, messaging, win themes, graphics, and proposal deliverables (hard copy, electronic copy, supporting collateral).
Apply recognised proposal-writing standards to maximise readability, consistency, and tone.
Set up and enforce proposal and bid reviews in line with bid process and stage gates.
Obtain approvals from key stakeholders
Update job knowledge by participating in educational activities; maintaining personal networks, APMP membership/accreditation.

Working Knowledge of Pricing and Commercial Terms and Condition,
Strong Presentation Skills.
Strong abilities in the use of MS Office applications
Experience of running IT or technology bids of various sizes
Experience of proposal authoring
Experience of key bids and proposals methodologies
Track record of writing winning proposals and managing winning bids
Degree level (technical qualification and/or English) desirable but not essential if experienced with a proven track record of success as a Bid manager
APMP Practitioner desirable but not essential
Prince 2 desirable but not essential
