My client is in the enviable position of growing their business to the point that they now need to look at expanding their Leakage Detection teams.
The role will involve you to deliver cost effective sustainable leakage reduction through analysis and investigation of water usage and the promotion of leaks and/or identification and logging of usage in order to ensure the company meets its leakage performance commitment.
You will be operating in a dynamic ever changing environment whilst ensuring your own and others safety. Carrying out detection and investigation activities in a way which ensures they do not impact on other performance commitments, e.g. Water Supply Interruptions and Water Quality Contacts.

" Effectively and proactively investigate DMAs issued, locate and promote leakage in a cost effective way which contributes to the reduction in area leakage levels
" Account for usage in order to eliminate non leakage from the leakage reporting process
" Carry out dynamic risk assessments to ensure all activities are safe and delivered with minimal customer impact
" Validate and quantify all work promoted to service partners to ensure optimal leakage reduction at minimal cost
" Create and maintain strong relationships with Field and service partner personnel to help support with leakage reduction and ensure jobs are resolved
" Take ownership of private leakage jobs and manage them through to resolution
" Ownership and maintenance of equipment
" Liaise with customers in order to resolve leakage issues
" Create WAND risk assessments
" Use available corporate systems effectively and in accordance with policies and procedures
" Train, mentor and up-skill trainee and apprentice Leakage Inspectors
If you posses the following Skills & Attributes:
" Experience of understanding where your role fits within a business plan and then
developing ways to deliver the outputs.
" Develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships.
" Experience of supporting and embedding change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours.
" Clearly demonstrates the Yorkshire Water company values and behaviours.
" Leak detection and resolution using acoustic sounding equipment (listening sticks and ground microphones)
" Use leak sound correlation equipment, including the ability to use filters, carry out velocity checks and use hydrophones
" Use correlating loggers (e.g. Enigma and Sound Sens) and be able to successfully interpret the information they provide
" Designing and implementing step tests
" Understands network hydraulics and the effect that operating the network can have on water quality (overlanding)
" Use Netbase (Latis Lite) to understand DMA day/night usage patterns, potential leaks and reductions due to repairs
" Effectively quantify and validate leakage
" Zero pressure testing
" Zone integrity tests
" Pressure logging
" Logger, pulse unit installation and maintenance
" Network operations using the calm network method
" Understanding of how a DMA is set up
" Passionate about customer service
" Clearly demonstrates the Yorkshire Water company values and behaviours
" Ability to use and act upon own initiative to solve and overcome problems/issues
" Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
" Ability to understand and use corporate systems and IT applications
" Full clean driving licence
" Ability to work unsociable hours (i.e. nights and weekends)
" Experience of delivering against challenging business targets.
" Previous experience in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment.
" Previous experience gained within the water or waste water sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors.
" Promote cross team working and build relationships with Field and technical operations to enhance network knowledge
" DMA optimisation
" Meter validation, exchange and maintenance, including DMA, commercial and domestic meters
" PRV servicing, maintenance and exchange
" A knowledge of the design and operation principles of potable water distribution network assets
" Good data analysis and manipulation skills
" A knowledge of leakage principles, monitoring, calculation and analysis techniques
" A background knowledge of distribution leakage and to be numerate in order to analyse data and develop solutions
" Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate programmes of work to leakage field teams
