Head of Category - Manufacturing - Hampshire - £80,000 + £5,600 car allowance + 25% bonus
Are you a senior procurement professional who can lead a team and has experience across direct categories? I am interested in speaking to such talent for a new Head of Category role with a specialist manufacturer who are listed in the FTSE 250.
Your role will be to lead, develop and deliver a global category strategy where you will bring outside ideas inside that are innovative, managing the sourcing cycle and supplier relationship management.
Translating global category strategy to pragmatic sourcing and actions plan. Defining the team required to successfully deliver the project plan. Undertake category management activities as required. Drive plans to successful execution.
You will have accountability for category results building on the effective interface with stakeholders at all levels across functions and geographies and leading relevant cross-functional teams.
The role is part of the Global Procurement Organisation and reports directly to the Procurement Director.
Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels
Support and implement procurement transformation
Communicate the value of the Procurement function to the business.
Take ownership of specific tasks/projects as directed by the Procurement Director.
Coach and mentor colleagues where appropriate
Global Category Strategy
Develop and manage appropriate supplier relationship management program with key global category suppliers
Spend is c£300m across the business globally
3-4 direct reports
The ideal profile will have proven experience of relevant and successful strategic category management within a global environment to establish credibility with internal and external stakeholders.
Worked within a similar role for a manufacturing organisation
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to champion the vision of the organisation.
Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload.
Ability to facilitate multiple activities at any one time, and effectively communicate current positions.
Ability to balance total cost of ownership (TCO), strategic and tactical delivery.
Ability to operate effectively in different cultures and across geographies, including managing stakeholders and colleagues remotely.
Leadership and management experience.
